DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction
DIEP flap surgery is a breast reconstruction procedure that uses tissue from the lower belly (like a tummy tuck) and transferred to the breast.
The tissue includes skin and fat with their blood vessels. Using microsurgical techniques, the 2 surgeons connect the blood vessels of the flap to the blood vessels in the chest to keep its blood supply.
